Sharing music with the world continues to be Andrew's ultimate inspiration. Andrew, a south San Diego native, began performing music at the age of eleven with the Sweetwater Union High School District Mariachi programs. Upon graduating high school, he began studying Biological Science at the University of California Riverside. Andrew's passion for music remained strong which led him to pursue a degree in music. Andrew is a credentialed music teacher in the state of California and has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from San Diego State University.

​Andrew Rodriguez has performed mariachi all over San Diego since the age of 13. Some of his experience includes directing mariachi for the NAMM Show, San Diego Zoo, and the Kroc Center San Diego. Andrew also involves himself in promoting mariachi education and has presented his ideas and practices to San Diego State University, CASMEC, and the Midwest Clinic. His work in teaching music has been recognized through CMEA-SBS as the "New Comer of the Year" and was awarded "Teacher of the Year" at Bell Middle School only after his 2nd year of teaching. Andrew currently teaches at Bell Middle School where he directs band, orchestra, and the newly founded mariachi class. Andrew provides educational presentations of mariachi to audiences of all ages. Outside of the classroom, he can be found leading a community mariachi ensemble through Villa Musica, a nonprofit organization in San Diego.
